Fluorometholone
Indications/Uses
Non-infectious allergic inflammation of the conjunctiva, cornea, anterior segment of the eye ball. Post-op state for squint, cataract, glaucoma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac bid to qid. During the 1st 24-48 hr, dose may be increased to 2 drops every 2 hr.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity; TB of the eyes; fungal disease of the ocular structures; acute superficial herpes simplex keratitis, vaccinia, varicella; cornea & conjunctiva viral disease; acute untreated purulent ocular infections.
Special Precautions
Adverse Reactions
Increased IOP, open angle glaucoma, optic nerve damage, visual acuity & fields of vision defects, secondary infections, globe perforation, cataract formation.
